About the Journal

The scientific journal “Chronos: Journal of the Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology" was founded in 2019 at Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The journal is published annually.  It is a multidisciplinary, and peer-reviewed journal publishing original works in the fields of history, ethnology, physical anthropology, archaeology and art history related to Georgia and the surrounding world.
Articles in the journal are published in Georgian and English languages.

“Chronos: Journal of the Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology” announces the call for submission of manuscripts for the upcoming issue (N7). “Chronos” publishes original works (not published in any language) in history, ethnology, physical anthropology, archaeology, and art history related to Georgia and the surrounding world.
The volume of the article: the text, footnotes, notes and bibliography (except abstracts, and descriptions of illustrations and tables) should be no more than 7,000 words.
The working languages of the journal are Georgian and English. Submitted manuscripts will undergo an anonymous peer-review process.
Paper submission deadline: 1 June 2026.
