About the Journal

The scientific journal “The Chronos” was founded in 2019 at Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The journal is published annually.  It is a multidisciplinary, and peer-reviewed journal publishing original works in the fields of history, ethnology, physical anthropology, archaeology and art history related to Georgia and the surrounding world.
Articles in the journal are published in Georgian and English languages.

„The Chronos“, Journal of the Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology, has been included in the „European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences“ (ERIH PLUS) since March 2023.

 

Peer Review Process

The submitted article should be original; the manuscript must not be previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The editorial board of the journal evaluates the submitted material and decides on whether to accept or reject the manuscript for peer review. The papers accepted will be reviewed by experts. The review process respects the principle of mutual anonymity. The author and reviewer should not be affiliated with the same institution. The term of consideration of manuscripts is from two to four months. The results will be reported to the author. The accepted manuscript will go to publication. The authors of a manuscript that requires revisions or is rejected, may submit their arguments within two weeks. If necessary, the article will be sent for additional review.
Regarding the evaluation of the article, the following decisions can be made: a) The article can be published; b) The article can be published after revision; c) The article cannot be published.
The editorial board of the journal makes the final decision on the publication of the article.
